Cookie Policy

Last updated: 13 July 2026

Rugby Through The Leagues Ltd uses a small number of cookies and similar storage on rugbyttl.com and rugbyttl.app. This page explains what we set and why.

What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file stored on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies include local storage and IndexedDB, which our app also uses. Where this policy says "cookies", it covers all three.

Cookies can be:

  • Essential — needed for the site to work (sign-in, security, saved preferences).
  • Analytics — help us understand how the site is used.
  • Marketing — track you across sites to serve ads. We don't use any of these.

Essential cookies (always on)

These are strictly necessary for the site to work.

Analytics (cookieless)

We use Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to understand how the app performs. These are cookieless — they don't set any cookie and don't identify you.

YouTube embeds

Our services embed YouTube videos using youtube-nocookie.com, YouTube's privacy-enhanced embed. No YouTube cookies are set until you press play. Once you press play, YouTube (Google LLC) sets its own cookies under Google's privacy policy. If you never play a video, YouTube sets no cookies.

Third-party embeds

If you interact with an embedded Spotify, Apple Podcasts or Substack player, those services may set their own cookies under their own policies.

Your choices

  • Essential cookies cannot be switched off (you'd not be able to sign in).
  • YouTube cookies are only set when you press play. You can avoid them by not playing embedded videos.
  • Most browsers let you block or delete cookies via their settings. See aboutcookies.org for guides. Blocking essential cookies will break parts of the service.

Changes to this policy

If we add new cookies or change how we use them, we'll update this page and refresh the "Last updated" date.
